Inter Milan have announced the transfer of their striker Martin Satriano to RC Lens on loan with an obligation to buy.

The Uruguayan has been on the club’s books since 2020. But after a promising stint with the Nerazzurri’s Primavera squad, he couldn’t carve himself a prominent role with the first team.

Therefore, the 23-year-old has been constantly on loan over the past three years. This includes two separate spells at Brest and a campaign at Empoli.

Brest were eager to maintain the striker’s services on a permanent basis, especially after having played an important role in the club’s historic Champions League qualification.

However, Satriano was holding out for a more prestigious destination. But he eventually settled for a move to Lens.

The official Inter Milan website has now confirmed the transfer through an official note.

“FC Internazionale Milano announces that Martín Adrián Satriano Costa will make a move to Racing Club de Lens,” reads the club’s statement.

“The 2001-born forward joins on loan with an obligation to buy.”

The official note doesn’t mention the conditions that would trigger the obligation to buy clause.

So it remains to be seen if Satriano will finally seal a permanent move to Ligue 1 or end up at Appiano Gentile once more next summer.

Lens started their campaign on a promising note, winning their first match in the domestic league.

They also beat Panathinaikos in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League play-off round. They are now leading 2-1 on aggregate.

The Ligue 1 side will be looking to seal qualification to the European tournament next week in Athens.

The French club should be able to count on Satriano’s services for the decisive clash.
