OGC Nice’s Billal Brahimi (24) has joined Belgian Pro League side Sint-Truidense on a season-long loan deal, which includes the option to make the move permanent.
Despite the closure of the transfer window, it has been a busy week of incomings and outgoings at Nice. Having lost Jordan Lotomba to Feyenoord, Les Gym dipped back into the market, signing Ali Abdi from Kylian Mbappé-owned Ligue 2 side SM Caen. The Tunisia international will provide back-up for Melvin Bard at left-wing-back, a role briefly (only for a matter of hours) inherited by Brahimi.
Franck Haise stated that Brahimi would be Bard’s understudy in the event of Lotomba’s departure, which was realised after the closure of the French transfer window. However, Ali Abdi’s arrival meant that Brahimi, who has featured 56 times for Nice, would have limited game time in the current campaign.
The Algerian international has therefore left the club to join Sint-Truidense on a loan deal. The Belgian club do have the option to make the move permanent next summer.
