OGC Nice have confirmed the signing of Charles Vanhoutte (26) from Union Saint-Gilloise. The Belgian midfielder has signed a four-year contract with Les Aiglons, joining for a fee of €6m plus €1m in bonuses.

A key figure in Union SG’s title-winning campaign last season, Vanhoutte forged a strong midfield partnership with Noah Sadiki, who has since joined Sunderland. He arrives in Ligue 1 off the back of two consecutive Europa League campaigns with the Brussels club and has recently been handed his first call-up to the Belgium national team by Rudi Garcia.

Speaking to the club’s official channels, the Courtrai-born midfielder expressed his excitement at the move: “I feel ready and determined. I am very happy to join Le Gym. I can’t wait to discover Ligue 1 and my new environment. My goals are simple: I want to fight for the club, for my teammates, for the supporters. We’ll do everything to be competitive and to win as many matches as possible.”GFFN | George Boxall
