Great to see the United boss back at work.

A huge boost for the players and the club, as well as the supporters.

Eddie Howe speaking ahead of this match against Ipswich Town.

Eddie Howe hoping to see the team make it seven wins from eight.

Five matches to go that will decide whether or not United will be in the Champions League next season.

Pointers as to availability for this Ipswich Town match and beyond.

Official Newcastle United injury update from Eddie Howe ahead of this Ipswich match – 25 April 2025:

Eddie Howe commenting on his own situation first:

“I’m okay, I am not 100% in my body, but 100% in my mind.

“It’s been difficult, I tried to take a positive experience from it, it has been a real challenge, your health you take for granted, I certainly did.

“Been through a range of emotions, I feel like I am on the road to recovery and glad to be back here.

“The care that I received from the NHS was first class.

“I came back in, and normal service resumed, minus running around, a lot more reserved physically.”

Eddie Howe on Sven Botman:

“Sven has trained well this week, great to see him back with the group and on the grass.

“A really big step for him.”

It would be a massive boost to see Sven Botman return to the matchday squad.

I can’t imagine he would start against Ipswich but great if he makes the bench.

Four big matches to follow though and I have a feeling that Sven Botman could well play his part over the last month of the season.

Eddie Howe on Fabian Schar:

“Fabian, we hope will be okay.”

Jason Tindall indicated that it was more a precaution when Fabian Schar was subbed off later against Villa.

Relieved to hear he sounds ok and as well as his job at the back, might we see Schar make it three goalscoring matches in a row on Saturday, after scoring against Palace and Villa?

So as things appear to stand, only Lewis Hall and Jamaal Lascelles will be definitely unavailable for this Ipswich match on Saturday.

As I said earlier, hopefully Sven Botman able to make the bench.

The remaining Newcastle United match schedule:

Saturday 26 April – Newcastle v Ipswich (3pm)

Sunday 4 May – Brighton v Newcastle (2pm) Sky Sports

Sunday 11 May – Newcastle v Chelsea (12pm) TNT Sports
