Nantes midfielder Douglas Augusto (28) has signed for Russian side FK Krasnodar, both clubs have announced. The 28-year-old Brazilian leaves Les Canaris after two seasons in which he arguably was the most consistent and reliable midfielder. In the wake of Pedro Chirivella’s exit to Panathinaikos, another lynchpin in Nantes’ midfield has left Luis Castro’s squad.

Nantes and Krasnodar reportedly reached an agreement over a €6.5 million transfer fee for Douglas Augusto, who was tied with the Ligue 1 side until 2027. Nantes’ No. 6 leaves France after 57 games and four goals. As for Krasnodar, Douglas Augusto is the third Ligue 1 player to join them this summer after Auxerre’s Jubal and Gaëtan Perrin.
