Chelsea’s monster January continues, and the club have just confirmed the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk.

It all happened very fast – 48 hours ago Arsenal were still favourites, and now he’s a Chelsea player. Yesterday was a true whirlwind, with news breaking in the morning of a mission being sent to Poland to where Shakhtar’s base is, and the deal being all but done a few hours later.

The whole saga has been one involving some rather unusual decisions in terms of their communication strategy. Yesterday they put an announcement out on the website saying they were in negotiations with the winger (which is unusual), and today they’ve confirmed his signing during the 90 minutes of the game.

Either way, he looks like a top player and he can hopefully help turn around our stagnant attack.

The real question now is – how do we shift all the failed transfers of the last 5 years?
