AC Milan will travel to Australia this week ahead of their friendly against AS Roma, and the club have announced the squad that will travel for the fixture.

Though the season technically finished on Saturday, there is still one final game to play for the Milan squad, as they travel to Perth for the clash against the Giallorossi. It comes at a time when footballers are being asked to play more than ever, and even if there is a certain luxury attached to being an elite-level player, this is certainly one of the drawbacks.

Regardless of this, though, the players have been selected to travel and will do so tomorrow, May 28, allowing the squad to be in the best possible condition for Friday’s challenge.

The squad has been confirmed on the Rossoneri’s official website, which reads as follows.

“The Serie A 2023/24 campaign has only just finished but there is still one more match to conclude the season. We are on the eve of travelling to Australia, where the Rossoneri face Roma in a friendly. The game kicks off in Perth on Friday 31 May at 13.00 CEST (19.00 local time) at the Optus Stadium. Here’s a list of the selected players:

Goalkeepers: Nava, Sportiello, Torriani.

Defenders: Bartesaghi, Calabria, Florenzi, Gabbia, Hernandez, Kalulu, Jimenez, Simic, Terracciano, Thiaw, Tomori.

Midfielders: Adli, Loftus-Cheek, Musah, Pobega, Reijnders, Zeroli.

Forwards: Giroud, Jovic, Okafor.”

After earlier reports suggested Leao would be in the squad, we have been told that his absence from the squad is due to personal reasons. Christian Pulisic and Antonio Mirante are also absent due to personal reasons.

However, the squad will be under new management, after Pioli’s departure was confirmed to be taking place after the Salernitana game and not in the friendly game likely to ensure that he was given the best reception possible.

Additionally, given no movement has been made to make a new head coach official, the Diavolo will be led by Daniele Bonera, who is expected to be the Under 23 coach.
