Sérgio Conceição is officially no longer the coach of Milan.
Conceição joined Milan at the end of December replacing the sacked Paulo Fonseca and his journey with the Rossoneri started very well, with him leading the club to winning the Supercoppa Italiana, beating Juventus and Inter.
However, the situation quickly changed and Conceição failed to get Milan in the fight in Serie A for the Champions League places and also saw Milan getting kicked out of the UCL in an early stage.
The Rossoneri under Conceição finished in 8th place, their worst finish since 2014–15. Last night (Thursday), the club – to the surprise of no one – confirmed Sérgio won’t be on the bench next season.
“Milan and Sérgio Conceição will not continue their journey together next season.“The Club would like to thank Sérgio and his staff for their commitment, professionalism and dedication shown during their time leading the First Team over the past few months.
“The Milan family parts with the coach who won the 50th trophy in the Club’s history, wishing him the best for the future.”
The next coach of the Diavolo will be Massimiliano Allegri, who’s already signed a contract for 2 years + an option for a 3rd.
