Liam Rosenior has put pen to paper over a three-year deal with Strasbourg to fill their managerial vacancy, the Ligue 1 side has confirmed. The former Hull City manager takes charge of Les Alsaciens a week after the club’s BlueCo executives have decided to part ways with Patrick Vieira. A former England U23 international, Rosenior turned to management. The 40-year-old English manager previously served as assistant coach for Brighton & Hove Albion U23s and at Derby County, where he also took charge of the Rams as interim manager.

In November 2022, he enjoyed his maiden experience as a senior head coach at Hull City FC, with his tenure ending at the end of last season’s EFL Championship after missing a playoff spot by only three points. “I am happy to join Racing, a historic French club, with supporters renowned for their passion and loyalty,” Rosenior said. “I will do everything to make La Meinau – Strasbourg stadium – proud of its team and its players. I can’t wait to get to work.”

“We are happy to welcome Liam, a young coach recognized for his ability to make his teams play well and help his players progress. His arrival will allow Racing to continue to grow. We welcome him to Alsace,” said club president Marc Keller and the board of directors.
