Lens have tonight announced the signing of Polish wide man Przemysław Frankowski from Chicago Fire on a five-year deal.
The Poland international, who had been plying his trade in the MLS for the past two years, joins in the wake of right-back Clément Michelin’s departure to AEK Athens and is expected to act as Jonathan Clauss’ back-up.
The 26-year-old arrives at a club and region with a rich history of links with Poland – Lens is located at the heart of a mining region which has in the past seen a flurry of Polish people settle in the area, and various descendants of these immigrants have played for the club – Robert Budzinski and Daniel Krawczyk for example.
