Lazio have officially announced the capture of Salertinana attacker Loum Tchaouna who will join Marco Baroni’s ranks for the new season.
The Frenchman started his career at Stade Rennais before making the move to Salerno last summer for €3 million. Although the Granata endured a miserable campaign culminating in their relegation to Serie B, Tchaouna was one of the revelations of the season. He scored four goals and delivered as many assists in 33 Serie A appearances.
The club announced the move on Monday through a note published on the official Lazio website, but without revealing the details of the operation. Nevertheless, it is believed that the 20-year-old’s transfer cost the Biancocelesti circa €8 million.
Tchaouna is a left-footed player who mostly plays as an inverted winger, starting on the right flank and then cutting inside. But he can also play on the left side, or even in a more central role in attack.
The youngster was born in Chad but has been representing France on the international stage. He currently features for Les Bleus’ U20 side and has already contributed with three goals in eight caps.
