Transfer News: Villarreal have announced the signing of Giovani Lo Celso from Tottenham Hotspur
The video uploaded by the admin shows Geronimo Rulli and ex-Tottenham player Juan Foyth playing a game of ludo. Both the players are Lo Celso’s international teammates. Rulli receives a call and is told in Spanish that “it’s done”. He then informs Foyth that “it’s done” and “he’s coming.”
Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano had earlier confirmed that Lo Celso is headed to Spain for a season-long loan spell. He also mentions that no buy option has been included in the deal.
Lo Celso spent the second half of last season on loan at Estadio de la Ceramica. He had struggled for game time under Antonio Conte, being able to make only nine Premier League appearances.
But the 26-year-old midfielder was a hit in Spain. The Argentinian international made 15 league appearances for Unai Emery’s side and also helped them reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
It was expected he would get a chance at Spurs this season, but that has not turned out to be the case. He has been loaned back to Spain, but no option to buy has been included. With Conte adding Yves Bissouma to his midfield, it would have made it very tough for Lo Celso to get game time in the north London club.

The 26-year-old has made a wise decision to head out on loan and get game time. If he had stayed back, he would likely have got the same game time as last season, or maybe even less.
With the World Cup in November, Lo Celso has a better chance to make it in the Argentina squad while playing at Villarreal than Tottenham.
With no option to buy the player being included, it will likely mean that the midfielder has a chance to make it into the first team at Spurs.
But that would likely require him to perform exceptionally well in Spain. He did so earlier this year on loan when he helped them reach the UCL semi-final – and hopefully, he repeats it.
