Jordan Amavi (30) has officially signed for Stade Brestois 29 as a free agent after terminating his Marseille contract. Amavi was entering his final contract year with Marseille but he decided to cut his spell short, considering OM manager Roberto De Zerbi didn’t rely on him for the next Ligue 1 campaign. The left-back was previously loaned to Brest by Les Phocéens last season. The France international put pen to paper over a one-year contract with an option to trigger a further year with Eric Roy’s Pirates.
Last year, Amavi didn’t have a chance to impress with Brest as he was hit with a calf injury. However, for his first start with the Bretons, he scored a direct free-kick against Toulouse on the final matchday. Amavi is the third signing of Brest’s summer transfer window following the arrivals of Lens centre-back Julien Le Cardinal (26) and Mainz centre-forward Ludovic Ajorque (30).
