Strasbourg have tonight announced that midfielder Jessy Deminguet will join at the end of the season from Ligue 2 outfit Caen, with his contract at his formative club set to expire.

The 25-year-old broke into the Normandy side’s senior side in 2017, and has gone on to make 150 appearances, featuring during the club’s spell in the top flight. The former French youth international notably notched six goals and registered nine assists last season.

Strasbourg had reportedly been interested in the midfielder for the last two years, and have now been able to get their man – with Deminguet now being used less often this campaign by the second tier’s eighth-placed outift, having totalled just nine league appearance.

Deminguet may well remain in Ligue 2 next season, given Strasbourg are currently struggling in a relegation battle, lying in 17th place, having only just managed their third win of the campaign, a 2-0 win over Montpellier.
