Jessy Deminguet (26) can begin to put a disappointing debut season with RC Strasbourg Alsace behind him after it was officially announced that he had joined FC Metz on loan.
Les Grenats were able to outmanoeuvre FC Lorient in the race to sign the former SM Caen midfielder that sparked to life over the weekend. Both clubs had approached Strasbourg over Deminguet as they began their preparation for a season where they will hope to bounce immediately back into the top flight after suffering relegations at the end of the last campaign.
Lorient will have to move on to other targets this summer as they look to reinforce their midfield for the somewhat daunting task ahead, with Foot Mercato writing that they have begun looking at AC Ajaccio’s Tim Jabol-Folcarelli (24). However, Metz on the other hand could start to sing the praises of their new acquisition, stating that the midfielder would be “a significant asset in a competition where experience will be essential.”
