Serie A side Juventus will see their key defender Federico Gatti feature for Italy in the European championships later this month.
Giorgio Scalvini picked up a serious knee injury yesterday for Atalanta against Fiorentina and that ruled him out of the tournament and for the longer term as well. Francesco Acerbi has also pulled out due to injury, leaving Italy scrambling for replacements.
The Azzurrri have confirmed Gatti’s arrival at the training camp, as he replaces both Scalvini and Acerbi. Gatti will arrive at the club’s training camp at lunchtime and this means that Italy’s overall squad has now cut down to 25 players and four of them will be excluded after the two upcoming friendlies.
Luciano Spalletti’s side take on Turkey tomorrow in Bologna and then take on Bosnia on the 9th of June in Empoli. They begin their Euros campaign on the 15th of June against Albania in Dortmund.
