Inter head coach Simone Inzaghi has won the 2023-24 Panchina d’Oro in recognition of his role in the team’s Scudetto victory last season.

The Panchinca d’Oro is an annual award handed out to the best coaches in Italy at Coverciano. Originally voted on by journalists, the award is now decided by the votes of coaches across the Italian pyramid, including every male professional league, Serie A and Serie B femminile and since 2016-17, coaches from the men’s and women’s Futsal leagues as well.

The recipient of the 2023-24 awards were officially declared on Monday 24th March, 2025. This is Inzaghi’s first ever victory and the first won by an Inter coach since Antonio Conte in 2020-21. The most recent Inter recipient before Conte was Jose Mourinho in 2009-10.

Inzaghi won the 2023-24 prize with a clear majority of 26 votes. Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini finished second with 14 votes, while Vincenzo Italiano came in third with four votes.

Fabio Pecchia, who guided Parma to the Serie B title, has won the 2023-24 Panincha d’Argento (Silver Bench), which is the Panchina d’Oro equivalent for coaches in the second tier. Paolo Vanoli, who guided Venezia to promotion last season, came in second. Vincenzo Vivarini, who took US Catanzaro to fifth place last season, came in third.

Real Madrid’s Carlo Ancelotti has also been recognised with the lifetime achievement award. That is a particularly special honour, as there is no regular recipient. There have only been five previous recipients, the most recent being Luis Vicino in 2016.
