Inter have completed a deal to resign goalkeeper Ionut Radu from Genoa, but the Romanian will remain on loan with the Rossoblu this season.

The Nerazzurri confirmed the news with an official statement on their website this morning, although the move was unofficially finalised weeks ago.

Radu helped Romania reach the semi-finals of this summer’s European Under-21 Championships in Italy, where they were ultimately beaten by Germany.

“Over the course of the 2018/2019 season, the 22-year-old made 33 appearances in Serie A with Genoa,” Inter recalled today.

“With Inter’s Primavera side, Radu won the Viareggio Cup in 2015 and the 2015/2016 Coppa Italia before making his debut for the First Team in Serie A on 14 May 2016.”

Radu kept six clean sheets for the Grifone as they secured survival on the final day of the season.

He pulled off a series of impressive saves for Genoa that earned him a reputation as one of Serie A’s most promising young keepers.
