Bundesliga newcomers Heidenheim have today announced the signing of 21-year-old forward Eren Dinkçi on loan for the 2023/24 season from Werder Bremen.

“Eren is a young and talented player who, despite his age, has already gained Bundesliga experience,” said Robert Strauss, Heidenheim’s Head of Sport. “We’re delighted that this loan worked out and Eren is going into our first Bundesliga season with us. With him we have another option up front and another hungry player with potential.”

Dinkçi added: “I’m looking forward to tackling this new challenge and will do everything to keep up the class with Heidenheim. That is the big goal and I want to contribute to my new team in the best possible way, both personally and with the Bundesliga experience I’ve already gained.”

Dinkçi (21) played 215 minutes across 17 Bundesliga games last season for Werder Bremen, but failed to score. Born in Bremen, the forward scored seven and created two in eight Regionalliga Nord games for Werder Bremen II in the 2020/21 season, earning him a place within the first team.

Although just one goal in 50 games (1095 minutes) for Bremen since making his debut, Dinkçi has showed potential and with Bundesliga experience, will be an asset to Heidenheim, who earned promotion to the Bundesliga as 2. Bundesliga champions following their late win against Jahn Regensburg.

Dinkçi becomes Heidenheim’s fifth signing after Tim Siersleben, Benedikt Gimber, Nikola Dovedan and Omar Traoré.
