FC Barcelona enjoyed a spectacular 2024/25 campaign as they won the La Liga title while also lifting the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

In what was Hansi Flick’s first season in charge, the Blaugrana put themselves on the map as one of the best, if not the best, teams in Europe this season, playing an attractive brand of football.

Given the exceptional campaign that the Blaugrana have gone through, it does not come as a surprise to see a number of their players as well as manager Flick be in contention for individual honours.

Flick nominated for La Liga Coach of the Season

Indeed, Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has been nominated for the La Liga Coach of the Season award for 2024/25.

The German tactician is competing against Athletic Club’s Ernesto Valverde, Manuel Pellegrini of Real Betis, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, Girona’s Michel, Manolo Gonzalez of RCD Espanyol and Jose Bordalas of Getafe.

Interestingly, Carlo Ancelotti, who led Real Madrid to a second-place finish this season before leaving the club, does not feature.

Lamine Yamal, Pedri in contention for U23 Player of the Season

Meanwhile, Barcelona superstar duo Pedri and Lamine Yamal are in contention for the La Liga U23 Player of the Season honour.

Both Pedri and Lamine have, without a doubt, been the best of the best in La Liga this season and have played an integral role in the club’s title triumph.

With the pair in the talks for a potential Ballon d’Or win this year, it does not come as a surprise to see them being in the reckoning for the La Liga U23 Player of the Season honour as well.

Lamine and Pedri will be competing against Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham and Arda Guler, along with Las Palmas youngsters Alberto Moleiro and Fabio Silva, as well as Valencia’s Diego Lopez.
