FC Barcelona manager Hansi Flick finds himself in the nominations for the 2025 Johan Cruyff Trophy as part of the Ballon d’Or ceremony.
The Johan Cruyff Trophy is awarded to the best coaches of the year, separately for men’s and women’s football.
And in the Men’s Coach of the Year category for the 2025 edition, Hansi Flick finds himself among the top five nominations.
The German tactician enjoyed a stunning return to management as he took over the reins at Barcelona from Xavi Hernandez and led the team to a domestic treble.
Indeed, Flick won the La Liga title, the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup trophies in his debut season with the Blaugrana, doing so with his team playing an attractive, attacking style of football that captured everyone’s attention.
The Catalans also made it as far as the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, where they were eliminated by Inter Milan.
Given his successful season, it is not a surprise to see Flick being nominated for the Johan Cruyff Trophy for the Men’s Coach of the Year.
However, he will be up against former Barcelona boss Luis Enrique, who led PSG to a historic treble last season, along with Antonio Conte (Napoli), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea), and Arne Slot (Liverpool).
