FC Barcelona seem to continue taking hits even when they manage to achieve something worth commending. Their most recent victory was such an achievement, managing to completely blow Girona out of the water. However, while Barcelona maintain their perfect record, they have another issue to worry about.

Even right now, the Catalan club continues to suffer in terms of depth thanks to their ever-growing injury list. While players like Gavi, Ronald Araujo, Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen, and others are still not ready to return, it would appear that a new name will need to be added to that list.

Previously, it was believed that Barcelona star Dani Olmo had suffered a muscular overload in his hamstring following the recent win over Girona, but it now appears that the former RB Leipzig star’s injury is much worse than previously expected.

As revealed by FC Barcelona officially, the player’s medical tests have revealed that the extent of his injury is more serious than previously expected. This particular injury will now keep him sidelined for 4-5 weeks and will likely see him miss a couple of important games.

Even through the course of September, the Spanish star will miss the games against Monaco in the UEFA Champions League, as well as La Liga encounters against the likes of Villarreal, Getafe, and Osasuna, and may even potentially miss the games against Young Boys in the UCL as well as another La Liga encounter against Deportivo Alaves.

At the moment, it is not known when the player will ultimately end up returning. Unfortunately, the Barcelona star has always had a bad history with injuries and it seems that this is just a reminder of how injury-prone he can tend to be from time to time.

In terms of form, however, Dani Olmo has given fans of Barcelona absolutely nothing to complain about. The player has three goals in three games for the team, and has also been a great addition that helps out his coach and teammates due to his versatility and compatibility with this Barcelona side. Unfortunately, that will now make his absence even more of a loss for Hansi Flick.
