Official: Gittens joins Chelsea - "It's an incredible feeling!" | OneFootball

The transfer saga is finally over - Dortmund's Jamie Gittens officially joins Chelsea for a reported fee of around €64 million. It's a similar fee to what Chelsea paid Dortmund for the services of Christian Pulisic in 2019.

Gittens signed a seven‑year contract with Chelsea, tying him to the club until the summer of 2032 - not unusual for Chelsea, who have given players lengthy contracts since Todd Boehly took over.

Despite being in Philadelphia and present for Chelsea’s quarter‑final victory over Palmeiras, Gittens is cup‑tied due to Dortmund being in the competition as well and will be ineligible to feature further in the Club World Cup for the Blues.

Chelsea coach Enzo Maresca confirmed Gittens trained with the squad on July 5th, but will depart soon for a brief vacation ahead of pre‑season.

The London-born 20-year-old, who has already played in Chelsea's youth academy, has managed to feature in 107 games for Borussia Dortmund ever since his transfer from Manchester City's academy in 2020. Gittens has scored 17 goals for die Schwarz-Gelben and provided 14 assists.
