Spanish winger Jesé (29) has signed a five-month deal with Serie A outfit Sampdoria, the Genoa-based club has announced. The former Real Madrid and PSG striker was a free agent following the termination of his contract with Turkish club Ankaragücu last month. The 29-year-old only played sixteen games with the Süper Lig side this season, scoring five goals and registering two assists.
Jesé, a two-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid (2014, 2016), joined PSG from La Casa Blanca in a €25m deal and a five-year contract in 2016. He never settled in in Unai Emery’s squad and was loaned to Las Palmas only six months after his arrival in the French capital. He kept being loaned out year in, year out and eventually left PSG in 2020 when his contract was terminated. He then returned at Las Palmas from February 2021 to June 2022. Now, Jesé will try to help Sampdoria steer clear of a Serie B relegation. La Samp are 19th-placed and have a 8-point deficit on 17th-placed Spezia.
