Lille OSC have announced that André Gomes (31) has rejoined the club on a contract that will keep him in the north of France for the next two seasons. The midfielder had spent the season on loan at Lille for the 2022/23 season before returning to his parent club Everton FC.
Gomes came to the end of his contract at Everton this summer after the club decided against renewing his contract. The midfielder who has represented Portugal at the international level first joined Everton in 2019 from FC Barcelona where he became a league winner in the 2017/18 season.
Gomes struggled for game time at Everton last season, an injury kept him out of the lineup at the start of the campaign, and he made only 12 appearances following his return to fitness. The midfielder will be hoping for a return to more consistent game time at Les Dogues, where he made 27 appearances during his previous stint.
