Florenzi is on his final year at Milan as his contract is due to expire in 2025, and unfortunately for him and for the Rossoneri, his season is already compromised due to a knee injury.

The 33-year-old suffered an injury in pre-season in the match against Manchester City in New York and the injury turned out to be a very serious one. Today he underwent surgery.

“Alessandro Florenzi underwent arthroscopic surgery to reconstruct the ACL and repair the meniscus in his right knee. The operation, performed by Dr Roberto Pozzoni at the Ospedale Galeazzi S. Ambrogio in Milano, was a complete success. Alessandro will begin rehab after a few days of recovery,” a statement reads.

Florenzi will be out for a period between 6 and 8 months.
