Florent Ghisolfi has signed a three-year contract to become the new sporting director at AS Roma, with the club officially announcing the signing of the former OGC Nice executive.

The news has been expected for a while and was largely confirmed after the final game of the season when the Nice president Jean-Pierre Rivère revealed that Ghisolfi was planning to leave the club.

Ghisolfi had been in the role at Nice since October 2022, and before that had a notable stay in RC Lens. Nice are reportedly angling towards replacing Ghisolfi with Stade Rennais’ Florian Maurice, in what looks to be a dramatic summer shakeup for the southern side.

Francesco Farioli’s position as manager looks to be in doubt with the Italian strongly linked with an offer to become the next head coach of Ajax.

The changes have also swept through the youth set-up with the director of the academy dismissed from his role on Monday, while former caretaker and current head of their reserves, Didier Digard, is expected to depart the club at the end of his contract in June.
