Fenerbahçe have signed Marco Asensio (29) from PSG, both clubs have announced. The Spaniard has entered the final months of the three-year contract he signed as a free agent in 2023 upon the expiry of his Real Madrid contract. Fenerbahçe were competing with Aston Villa for Asensio’s signing. He’ll wear the No. 21 jersey with the Istanbul-based outfit.

The Spain international was deemed surplus to requirements by Luis Enrique. Asensio was allowed to spend the second half of the previous campaign on loan with the Villans. The Spaniard logged fewer goals with PSG than he did with Villa.

Asensio will reunite in Istanbul with former teammate Milan Skriniar, who also made the switch from PSG to Fenerbahçe this summer. The two clubs have reportedly reached an agreement over an €8.5m transfer fee. Asensio arrived in Turkey on Sunday to complete his Deadline Day move to the Süper Lig giants.
