Eintracht Frankfurt have today announced the signing of Philipp Max from PSV Eindhoven until the summer of 2026.
The 29-year-old left-back was signed late into the January transfer window on loan from the Dutch side, and he quickly established himself as a mainstay in Oliver Glasner’s team. The Eagles have decided to exercise their option to buy which is believed to be around the €2m mark.
Since joining SGE halfway through the campaign Max has featured 13 times on the left-hand side collecting one assist in the Bundesliga. However, he has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since mid-April, limiting his game time for Eintracht Frankfurt.
With Die Adler expecting to lose talent throughout the summer transfer window, the signing of Max will provide the quality required ahead of next season. During his two-and-a-half-year spell at PSV, Max was able to score eight goals while producing 20 assists.
After recovering from injury, he is now available to feature against Freiburg on Saturday, as well as the DFB-Pokal final. Victory against RB Leipzig would see Max help his side qualify for next season’s Europa League.
