Official: Como lose star winger Diao for five more weeks | OneFootball

Assane Diao has sustained a new injury and will continue with ‘conservative treatment’ but is expected to remain out of action for five more weeks.

Como will be forced to do without their star Diao for at least five more weeks, Como said in a statement on Friday.

The 19-year-old already missed the last five games of 2024-25 because of a foot injury.

“Como 1907 announces that, during a training session, footballer Assane Diao sustained an injury. Medical tests revealed a fissure in the shaft of the fifth metatarsal bone in his right foot,” Como said in a statement.

“After consulting Professor Neik Van Dijk, a specialist in foot surgery, the decision was made to proceed with conservative treatment.

“The recovery time will depend on how the injury progresses, but it is expected to be around five weeks.”

Diao joined Como in the 2025 January transfer window and had a tremendous impact with eight goals and one assist in 15 Serie A matches.
