Lorenzo Colombo has completed his move to Monza, as was announced by AC Milan earlier this afternoon. The youngster pushed for the transfer and was given the green light night.

Milan initially wanted to sign a striker before sending Colombo to Monza but after the struggles with Mehdi Taremi, both the player and Monza were getting anxious. As a result, the Rossoneri sanctioned the move.

On their website a few minutes ago, Milan confirmed the transfer of the striker on a season-long loan. They also confirmed the contract renewal. It’s a good move for the 21-year-old who will be able to get consistent playing time for a top-tier site.

“AC Milan announces that it has temporarily transferred, until 30 June 2024, the sports performances of the footballer Lorenzo Colombo to AC Monza. At the same time, the Club extended the contract with Colombo until 30 June 2028. The Rossoneri Club wishes Lorenzo the best of luck for the upcoming football season,” the statement read.

In the meantime, Milan are working on the arrival of a striker and it seems Sevilla man Rafa Mir is now the priority. More on that can be found on the site and in the deadline-day blog.
