Official: Chiellini returns to Juventus in executive role | OneFootball

Juventus have confirmed that legendary former defender and captain Giorgio Chiellini has returned to the club in a backroom role, following his retirement from the professional game just shy of a year ago.

Juventus have confirmed that Chiellini will now serve as the club’s Head of Football Institutional Relations.

The 40-year-old will be responsible for handling relations with other clubs in Serie A and across Europe, as well as with various national team sides. The club have confirmed that he will report directly to CEO Maurizio Scanavino.

“Chiellini never truly left the Bianconeri – his heart, soul and values have always remained connected to the club, both on and off the field. As of September 16, he will serve as Head of Football Institutional Relations,” the club wrote in a statement published on Sunday.

Chiellini made 561 competitive appearances for Juventus across a 17-year career in Turin. During that time frame, he picked up nine Serie A titles, plus one from Serie B, five medals in both the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana, as well as finishing as the Champions League runners-up on two occasions.

He left Juventus in 2022 and joined LAFC, where he also won the MLS Cup in his first season, before finishing as the runner-up in 2023.

The legendary former Italy international announced his retirement in December of 2023.
