Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos (20) has returned to BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 side Strasbourg, both clubs have confirmed. The Brazilian already spent the second half of the previous Ligue 1 season with Les Alsaciens, during which he made 11 appearances and scored one goal. Santos left his parent club’s preseason tour in the United States to link up with Liam Rosenior’s squad in the Black Forest, according to Les Dernières Nouvelles d’Alsace.

Santos is tied with Chelsea over a long-term contract set to expire in 2030. During his brief stint with Patrick Vieira’s Alsaciens last season, the Brazil international was one of the rare Strasbourg players to stand out amid a struggling season for the Ligue 1 club. Santos was elected Player of the Month by Strasbourg fans in the two last months of the campaign. The 20-year-old will continue wearing the #8 jersey with Strasbourg.
