Angelo Gabriel’s whirlwind spell as a Chelsea player is over – for now.

The winger was signed direct from Santos in Brazil, headed to join up with the squad on their preseason tour, returned to the UK with them, and has now been confirmed as our sister club Strasbourg’s first signing on loan from us.

Considering his age and inexperience, he looked confident stepping up and playing for us – we’re sure he will do great in Ligue 1.

Chelsea confirmed the 18 year old’s move in a statement on the club’s website just now.

Pieces are falling into place over there, with Patrick Vieira in as manager and money from our ownership helping them strengthen throughout. There will likely be further additions on loan from our first team squad too, depending on the business we do in the coming weeks.

Interestingly, the club statement makes no mention of the connection between Chelsea and Strasbourg. We wonder if that’s a coincidence, or will be a policy going forward.
