Brazilian Chelsea FC midfielder Andrey Santos (19) has joined BlueCo-owned Ligue 1 club RC Strasbourg Alsace on loan this Deadline Day, both clubs have officially announced. The 19-year-old will link up with fellow Brazilian prospect and Chelsea loanee Ângelo Gabriel at La Meinau under the guidance of Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira. He is expected to link up with Les Alsaciens in mid-February due to his commitment to his national team.

Andrey Santos is currently away with Brazil U23 team at a pre-Olympic qualifying tournament in Venezuela. The 19-year-old midfielder, who joined the spendthrift Blues last year during the winter transfer window, spent the first half of the Premier League campaign on loan at Nottingham Forest.

Chelsea recalled Santos from Forest due to insufficient playing time. “He has good vision of the game. His very high passing quality allows him to break the lines. His profile is very complementary to our current midfielders”, adds Strasbourg Recruitment Director Loïc Désiré.
