Axel Disasi (25) and Malo Gusto (20) have replaced Jules Koundé (24) and Dayot Upamecano (24) in the France squad to face the Netherlands and Scotland.
France are mired in something of an injury crisis ahead of the international break. William Saliba was forced to withdraw from the squad on Sunday. He will remain with Arsenal and undergo treatment for a toe injury, which necessitated injections in order to allow him to feature against Manchester City. He was replaced by OGC Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo.
Upamecano and Koundé have both now withdrawn too. The former is suffering from a hamstring injury, sustained against Freiburg, whilst the latter suffered a knee injury against Granada. Disasi and Gusto have both received call-ups to replace the injured duo.
It is Gusto’s first call-up to the senior side; the former Olympique Lyonnais right-back has featured for the U21 side on seven occasions and had once again been called up to Thierry Henry’s side for Les Bleuets’ upcoming fixtures.
