Chelsea have now officially confirmed their first new summer transfer window signing, and it actually isn’t Liam Delap of Ipswich Town.
This news comes after Chelsea beat Real Betis to win the Conference League on Wednesday night after being a goal down at half time and turning it around.
The Blues ended up winning the game 4-1 in the end after a bit of a Cole Palmer masterclass in the second half, providing two beautiful assists for his team mates to grab crucial goals.
Although head coach Enzo Maresca is once again not willing to get carried away after this by insisting that Chelsea’s target for next season is not going to be winning the Champions League!
We have all been waiting for Chelsea to officially announce the new signing of Liam Delap from Ipswich Town, but it so far has yet to arrive, at least at the time of typing this out.
Delap will be announced very soon now, but it was largely expected to be happening yesterday. However, Chelsea DID officially announce one new signing yesterday regardless.

As per the Chelsea website on Monday night, the club confirmed the signing of Dario Essugo from Sporting CP.
The midfielder, who spent last season on loan in La Liga with Las Palmas and is a Portugal Under-21 international, has signed a contract until 2033.
Essugo is just 20-years-old and he has drawn comparisons to Moises Caicedo, who has been colossal for Chelsea this season.
It looks like he will be going straight into Enzo Maresca’s squad for next season as some deep squad cover in the midfield areas with Chelsea playing Champions League football next season.
