Roma midfielder Benjamin Tahirovic is set to become a new Ajax player after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.
As announced by Roma just minutes ago, the Giallorossi reached an agreement with the Dutch side for the permanent transfer of the midfielder. They’ll pay a fee of €8.5 million, including bonuses, while Roma retain a 15% sell-on clause from any future sale.
Tahirovic, 20, will undergo his medical examinations in Amsterdam after the current international break comes to an end.
The youngster made 11 appearances under Jose Mourinho this season and was widely considered one of the club’s most promising prospects. However, the Giallorossi were forced to sell after UEFA imposed sanctions on the club along with Juventus, Inter, and Milan due to breaching Financial Fair Play rules.
