Having taken over as the new manager of the Brazilian national team, Carlo Ancelotti has announced his first squad list for their upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
And, Barcelona winger and captain Raphinha has been included in the squad by the former Real Madrid boss.
Raphinha is coming on the back of an exceptional season for Barça, having amassed 34 goals and 25 assists from 57 matches in all competitions.
Considering his role in the Catalans’ domestic treble triumph, the 28-year-old attacker is being talked about as a potential contender for the Ballon d’Or.
Now, the winger, who has also been nominated for the La Liga Player of the Season award, will hope to translate his spectacular club form onto the international level as Brazil begin a new era under Ancelotti.
The Selecao are scheduled to take on Ecuador and Paraguay in the World Cup qualifying fixtures and Ancelotti will look to Raphinha to make a difference not only with his attacking quality but also his leadership.
