Following Barcelona’s La Liga clash against Real Sociedad on Sunday night, the team was faced with some injury concerns involving Frenkie de Jong and Robert Lewandowski.
While it has been confirmed that the Dutch midfielder is not injured, the same cannot be said about the centre-forward.
Indeed, the Polish Football Association has officially announced that Lewandowski will not be involved in their upcoming matches this month as he is out with a back injury.
“The Polish Football Association has announced that Robert Lewandowski will not take part in the November training camp of the Polish national team, preparing for the UEFA Nations League matches against Portugal and Scotland,” the statement read.
“The reason for the absence of the captain of the national team is a back injury he suffered in the league match against Real Sociedad, ruling him out of action for about ten days.”
Lewandowski has been in sensational form this season, although saw his goalscoring run come to an end yesterday when he had a goal wrongfully ruled out for offside.
The back issue, though, does not appear to be a serious one considering that the statement from the Poland national team association states that he will be out for only ten days.
As such, the expectation will be that Lewandowski will be fit and ready to go when Barcelona take on Celta Vigo right after the international break.
