The game between FC Barcelona and CA Osasuna is scheduled to start soon. For both teams, this is a massive clash in La Liga that now demands their complete attention. However, Barcelona will be looking to continue their dominant form in 2025 as they aim for all three points.
Having been postponed before, this game is now an opportunity for both teams to get a much-needed positive result. For Osasuna, it would help them regain some momentum following a string of poor results, but for Barcelona it would mean solidifying their lead at the top of the La Liga table.
However, it is also true that the Catalan giants are set to play this game with a depleted squad that is also suffering from fatigue. Still, despite that clear hurdle, Hansi Flick is set to field a strong starting eleven for this important game.
In goal, Wojciech Szczesny retains his place as the team’s first-choice goalkeeper. His record is perfect so far in terms of helping the team remain undefeated in 2025, and this is another game in which Barcelona will be hoping to keep that record intact.
As for the two centre-backs, Hansi Flick has decided to field Inigo Martinez and Eric Garcia together. Both players will have a good idea of what is expected of them, and they will need to play out from the back while also ensuring that they commit to their defensive responsibilities.
On their flanks, Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde occupy the right and left flanks respectively. Both players have the ability to help out in attack while also ensuring that they help out the team with defensive tasks as well.
Over in the midfield, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong will make up the two-man pivot for Hansi Flick’s team. They both excel with possession and without it as well, but they will need to put in the work to ensure that Osasuna remain restricted while their own forwards thrive.
Up ahead, Lamine Yamal and Gavi occupy the wings for Barcelona. Between them, Dani Olmo will be the team’s starting central attacking midfielder and all three of them will look to create as much danger as possible for Osasuna to deal with.
Lastly, Ferran Torres will start as the team’s primary focal point in attack. As the centre-forward, he will be expected to finish off any chances that come his way while also ensuring that his hold-up play enables Barcelona to thrive.
