Xavi has made four changes in the team that won against Villarreal at the Estadio de la Ceramica for the game against Real Betis tonight. In his fourth game as Barcelona manager, the young coach is still experimenting with his team.

The first of these changes will see Sergino Dest replace Eric Garcia at right-back. The American will partner Ronald Araujo and Clement Lenglet as part of the back-four, as the latter comes in to replace Gerard Pique. Jordi Alba and Marc-Andre ter Stegen retain their spot at left-back and goalkeeper, respectively.

Sergio Busquets starts in the defending midfield capacity, as one would expect. Frenkie de Jong, however, has been benched. It seems like a move to keep him – and others – fit for the Bayern Munich game. Nico Gonzalez and Gavi start in the midfield.

Philippe Coutinho’s inclusion is the last of the four changes in the lineup. The Brazilian is expected to start at left-wing, while Ez Abde continues the duties on the right. Memphis Depay starts as the central striker.

Confirmed Barça XI: ter Stegen; Dest, Araujo, Lenglet, Alba; Nico, Busquets, Gavi; Abde, Memphis, Coutinho
