Ahead of the clash against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga, Barcelona were hit with the exclusion of Ansu Fati, who felt discomfort in his right knee and was declare unavailable for selection. As such, Ronald Koeman must have had to make some changes to his starting XI, which has been announced right now.

This troop of 11 can be interpreted in two ways, but given Koeman’s choices in the last few games, it’s fair to assume that Barça will lineup in a 4-3-1-2. Sergio Aguero gets his first start in the garnet and blue, pairing up with Memphis Depay upfront.

Behind them, Philippe Coutinho will likely take the spot as the no. 10. There are two changes in the midfield trident following El Clasico as Nico replaces Gavi in midfield, while Sergi Roberto comes in for Frenkie de Jong.

Gerard Pique and Eric Garcia retain their spot in the heart of the defence. The Spanish pair will be flanked by Jordi Alba on the left, and Sergino Dest on the right, who returns to his favourable position. Marc-Andre ter Stegen takes up his spot in goal.

Confirmed XI: ter Stegen; Dest, Pique, Eric, Alba; Roberto, Busquets, Nico; Coutinho; Aguero, Memphis
