Official: Barcelona squad list against Rayo Vallecano – La Liga opener | OneFootball

Barcelona are back in business as they take on Rayo Vallecano for La Liga’s season opener tonight. Xavi has picked the official squad list for the encounter, featuring 23 players.

Right off the bat, Sergino Dest is not included in the squad. There have been doubts over his future, with reports linking him to Manchester United. Moreover, Gerard Romero claimed yesterday that Barcelona were about to sell a player ‘with an average salary’ soon.

Robert Lewandowski, Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie, and Raphinha have been registered and feature in the squad list. Ousmane Dembele does, as well, but Jules Kounde is missing. The Frenchman is still dealing with his fitness and will be registered by the next game.

Samuel Umtiti and Martin Braithwaite have been asked to leave the club, and therefore, will likely not feature for the Catalans. They are not part of the squad list for tonight’s clash, either.

From the youth team, Alejandro Balde, Inaki Pena, Gavi, and Arnau Tenas make the first official squad list for the season.
