It appears months of negotiations have finally paid off for Barcelona, who have finally officiated their agreement with Nike.
In a recent statement, the club have confirmed the start of a new multi-year deal, starting this season.
The new deal puts an end to tensions between Barcelona and Nike and should consolidate the latter’s position as the club’s main sponsor in the years to come.
Barça confirm that the two entities will work together to boost the club’s retail merchandising and global supply chain of kits and other accessories.
Although not specifically mentioned in the statement, the new deal should also see Barcelona receive a significant boost in revenue from the American apparel giants.

Reports suggest the new deal will hand Barcelona an initial bonus of €158 million, though this amount will be spread during the agreement’s duration.
Speaking of the duration, it has reportedly been spread into two phases, one of which will run until 2028 – the initial end date of Barcelona’s earlier contract with Nike.
In the second phase, Barcelona will enter into an agreement with Nike until 2038. During the entire span of the agreement, Barça could pocket as much as €127 million annually.
Overall, Barcelona could reportedly bring in a figure of €1.7 billion from the Nike deal across a period lasting until 2038.
Therefore, the new deal will make for one of the most lucrative sponsorship agreements in world football, one which could significantly boost Barcelona’s efforts to return to economic normalcy.
