FC Barcelona always has players that are competing for the top individual prizes. However, every once in a while, even coaches can be nominated for special awards. Fortunately, Hansi Flick has proven that he is already qualified for them.
Now, as per the latest update from the official Ballon d’Or account, Flick has been nominated for the Men’s Team Coach of the Year Trophy. Given to the best coach of any given year, it is an award that is both prestigious and definitely very difficult to win.

Following the nominations of both Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi for the Kopa Trophy, this is the next big nomination that has emerged for Barça. Interestingly, this award was officially presented for the first time during the Ballon d’Or ceremony last year and was won by Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti.
However, the closest that Hansi Flick ever came to winning a top coach of the year award was back in 2020. Despite leading Bayern Munich in a historically successful season, he came 2nd to Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp for the 2020 edition of the Best FIFA Coach award.
Still, having won three domestic trophies this year, he will be facing off against the likes of Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique. Ironically, Enrique himself won the FIFA World Coach of the Year award back in 2015 after leading Barcelona to a continental treble.
