Atlético Madrid officially announced the signing of Alexander Sørloth on Saturday evening, in a deal rumoured to be worth around €35 million.
The striker has spent three seasons in La Liga so far, for Villarreal and Real Sociedad. Last season was his most successful yet, with 26 goals and six assists across 41 games.
Before coming to Spain, Sørloth played in Germany, Turkey, Belgium, England, The Netherlands and his native Norway.
The Norwegian made his senior debut in 2016, aged just 20, and has 53 caps for his country, getting onto the scoresheet 18 times.
The striker will be looking to push on from his breakout La Liga season during the last campaign and start to perform at the consistent level he has shown himself to be capable of in the past.
The move to Atléti will also see Sørloth playing in the Champions League for the first time since 2020, and for the first time in front of fans, after playing in the Europa League in recent years.
The 28-year-old will be going out with a point to prove in the Spanish capital, in order to show fans that he is not simply a plan B after the club missed out on signing Artem Dovbyk.
