Serie A side Atalanta have this afternoon confirmed the arrival of Bosnian defender Sead Kolašinac on a free transfer. The former Arsenal left-back, who can also be deployed on the left-hand side of a back 3, refused to extend his 18-month stay with Ligue 1 side Marseille this summer.

Having arrived at the club back in January 2022, Kolašinac became a fan favourite at the Velodrome, representing the side on 58 occasions. Taking to social media after the move was made official, the former Schalke 04 man expressed his gratitude to all those associated with Les Phocéens.

After previous spells in the Bundesliga, the Premier League, and Ligue 1, Kolašinac will now embark on a new adventure in Italy, having put pen to paper on a reported two-year deal.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side finished 5th in Serie A last season, and the 53-cap Bosnian international should prove a worthwhile addition to the squad as they look to fight on all fronts, both domestically, and in Europe.
