Ansu Fati (22) has completed a loan move to AS Monaco from Barcelona. The deal includes the option to make the move permanent at the end of the season.
Fati arrives at Monaco looking to get his career back on track after injuries restricted the Spaniard’s game time in recent seasons. He landed in the South of France on Thursday and underwent his medical with the Principality club on Friday ahead of the officialisation of the much-anticipated transfer. The move comes after weeks of intense discussions between Monaco and Barcelona over the modalities of the deal.
Ultimately, Fati joins on loan with an option to make the move permanent. L’Équipe understands that the purchase option is valued at €11m, whilst the Catalan club will also contribute half of his wages. He is the third signing of Monaco’s transfer window, after Englishman Eric Dier and Paul Pogba, both of whom arrived on free transfers.
