Official: Another Atlético Madrid star agrees contract extension | OneFootball

La Liga giants Atlético Madrid have early this week announced a 2nd contract renewal in the club’s first-team squad.

After Antoine Griezmann committed his future to the Rojiblancos for the next couple of seasons, club captain Koke has since followed suit.

Koke, for his part, continued to play a leading role for Atlético Madrid this past season, to the tune of 44 appearances across all competitions.

The 33-year-old remains an important figure both on and off the pitch, considered a key figure in the Metropolitano dressing room by boss Diego Simeone.

Such importance, early this week, has therefore been recognised by the board in Spain’s capital once more.

As per a statement across Atléti’s website and social media platforms:

‘Jorge Resurrección, known as Koke, will continue to represent Atlético de Madrid next season after extending his contract with the club until June 30, 2026. Our captain’s contract includes an annual renewal at the end of each season, which both parties have agreed to activate.’
